Diva Hits The Books
Induction Cooktops Educate the Next Generation

Toronto, Canada (February 2005) ? From kindergarten to college, Diva de Provence is hitting the books and educating children of all ages on the culinary and safety benefits of induction cooking using its Diva Induction Cooktops. Diva is committed to teaching the features of its induction products and giving back to the community.

Kindergarten teacher, Millie Haygood, applied for and received a grant from the Georgia Association of Educators to design a kitchen for her students. Haygood wants to create a safe environment for the five and six year olds to learn about science, math and life skills. Millie chose induction because of its safety benefits and energy efficiency.

?My daughter is a chef and she told me Diva was a must-have? says Millie Haygood, of E.L. Miller Elementary School in Stone Mountain, Georgia.

Diva de Provence will also be in the 2005 Physics, Principles and Applications, Ed. 6, college level physics book as an example of electromagnetic induction and Faraday?s Law (Chapter 21). The initial press run is 40,000 textbooks and will be in lecture halls in the fall of 2005. An image of a hand touching the cooktop while a pan is cooking will demonstrate the technology and innovation of Diva?s products.

Cornell University?s Solar Decathlon team has hand picked Diva?s Induction Cooktops for the first Ivy League school solar-powered house to be entered into the 2005 U.S. Department of Energy Solar Decathlon competition.

?We researched available cooktops and selected Diva's product because it has the best efficiency and responsiveness? says Emile Chin-Dickey, CUSD team, Business Manager.

The participating teams homes will be constructed and displayed in the ?Solar Village? on the National Mall in Washington D.C. for a week of public tours and evaluated contests. Cornell University will complete in several contests including architecture and livability and comfort to how well the solar homes perform in providing energy for space heating and cooling, hot water, lights, and appliances. The Solar Village is open to the public October 7-16, 2005.

?These are great opportunities to educate our next generation on innovation, performance and technology? says Amir Girgis, managing director for Diva de Provence.
